A comprehensive study of buckwheat husk co-pelletization for utilization via combustion

Abstract Buckwheat husks are a valuable source of carbon and show the potential to be used as an energy source. However, due low bulk density susceptibility compaction, it is beneficial use them in form co-pellets. The study presents comprehensive research detailing buckwheat husks’ for co-pelletization with oily (peanut husks) dusty (senna leaves) agri-food wastes, whereas effect material parameters such amount additive (10, 15, 20%) process die rotational speed (170, 220, 270 rpm) on pellets’ quality (kinetic durability, particle density, degree compaction) consumption pelletization were examined. Ten percent potato pulp binder was added each pelletized mixture. It found that increase senna leaf content affects positively kinetic durability pellets. fatty peanut have negative (measured by density); however, both additions leaves lowering pelletizer. highest pellets addition 10% 96%) 20% 92%) obtained at 170 rpm subjected combustion fixed-bed unit, CO, CO 2 , NO, SO HCl, O fuel gases measured. emission factors higher than Ecodesign limitations (CO > 500 mg·Nm ?3 NO 200 ). results indicate can successfully co-pelletized other waste biomass; combusted require boiler improved air-supplying construction.
